Spring Dream It Do It Presentations - We just completed our Spring school presentations and they received very favorable reviews. There were 24 presentations covering 940 students! We have already had requests to do these presentations at some of the schools again in the fall and we've also been requested to do them for Administrators and Parents. If you would like to have a "repeat performance" for students, teachers, administrators, or parents please contact us and we will be happy to arrange it!
What's Next? - This Fall we are working on doing a Harley Davidson/Dream It Do It project. This will involve creating a customized Harley Davidson motor cycle. The students will learn about Harley Davidson manufacturing and be part of the team that takes a new Harley and customizes it to make it a "one of a kind" Dream It Do It Harley! Upon completion of the project we hope to have the Harley on display in the high schools that participated over the winter. Stay tuned for further details!
Robotics Competition - This Fall we also hope to launch the beginning of a Robotics competition! We are working closely with Jamestown Community College to identify the types of Robots that we will be using. Stay tuned for further information on this as well if your school is interested in competing!
Summer Teachers Workshop - We will be hosting a Dream It Do It Summer Teachers Workshop the first week in August. These teachers will tour the Manufacturing Technology Institute and learn more about the many exciting careers available in Advanced Manufacturing. During this week they will also have the opportunity to spend three days in local manufacturing facilities learning more about the products manufactured in this area and more about the specific needs of local employers. This will make them a valuable resource for students interested in pursuing careers in Advanced Manufacturing.
We would like to have as many local manufacturers as possible participate. If you would like to be a part of this important event contact Dave Johnson at (716) 490-0063 or email at djohnson@chautauquachamber.org.
